2. Transformers: Generation Two – In the year of 1993, Hasbro released the Transformer action figures as Generation 2. Again these toys were also made by Takara. There was nothing new; the olds were re-used for most of the characters from 1984 to 1985. They used only different colors and finishes with different weapons and accessories.
3. Beast Wars and Beast Machines When the Generation 2 series failed, Hasbro and Takara thought to come up with something new. The new concept was that all the figures would transform into animals. This ‘Beast Wars’ Transformers figure line was released in 1995. In the same year, Mainframe Entertainment released an animated series TV program based on this line. Originally this animated series was named ‘Transformers: Heroes’, but later it was changed. This Transformer figures were followed by a sub-series called ‘Transformers: Universe’.
Transformers: The Movie
This live-action movie based on the Transformer figures was released in the U.S. in 2007. It was a joint venture among Hasbro, DreamWorks SKG and Paramount Pictures. This movie was directed by Michael Bay and screenplay was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The movie was a great hit.

Transformers Video Games
In the year of 1986, a company called Ocean Software launched a video game that was based on the Transformers figures. This game was not a hit. Also Takara, the parent company of the Transformers released a game called Transformers: Convoy no Nazo. This game too was a successful one and it was not even released outside Japan.
Another game was released for the Sony PlayStation 2 by Atari; simply titled as Transformers, it was based on The Transformers: Armada. The game's reception was mixed, particularly due to the popularity of a PS2 Transformers game released at the same time for a Japanese-exclusive market, though the Armada game was of a higher quality and featured much better game-play. The game not released in America was based on the Generation 1 storylines.
It has been over two decades since the Transformers figures were first launched, but still the popularity and craze in people for Transformer action figures has not stopped and never will it.
