Corps Action Figures

The Corps toys are very popular worldwide. Among the fans of these toys, there are large number of people who like Army and the related things.

The Toys - These figures are fully pose-able and come in a wide range. Currently, there are 5 teams of these figures - the Terra team, Flying Force, Sea Squad, Covert Command and the Marauders (arch-enemies of the corps!).

The Corps figures come in the packs of 3-man recon and rival face-off figures. The Marine Corps action figures are widely sold at the retailers. These action toys are similar to the G.I. Joe figures in the size, but they are notably cheaper. These toys are known to focus particularly on the ‘good guys’- The Corps! At first look, these toys seem to be ‘Generic’ in quality, but when you look closely you can notice that their craftsmanship is on par with the G.I. Joe toys. The previous versions of the Corps had a small rolled paper slip with ‘mission objectives’ written on it.

The Plot – The Corps are led by Alex ‘Rucker’ Brody. These are very highly skilled men from all over the planet who fight evil and are dedicated to keep peace. Each team based on each others strengths, protects global citizens on air, land, water and shadows. They are always ready for the ‘call of duty’, no matter if it is a wild untamed jungle, deep in the ocean, up high in sky at 30,000 feet or infiltrating enemy lines. They never forget their priority to protect international freedom and stop the ruthless ‘Marauders’ from achieving their dream of world domination.

History – In 1986, the first range of 24 action figures was released. After a few months, another set of 6 action figures were launched. These total 30 figures were Lanard corps action figures toy line.

They ruled the toy market for the next 10 years and came under many sub-titles like ‘International Security Force’ and ‘World Force Response Team’. They were repainted and re-released four times during 1986 to 1995. In the era of 80's, three large military vehicles came as a part of this toy line – the tank, the patrol boat and the jeep. Initially, these vehicles were not carried by the retailers, but later they welcomed them.

In 1996, Lanard witnessed a heavy upgrade of the Corps figure line. Six action figures were removed and were repainted and this time the color would look much more ‘militaristic’. Actually, there were six color schemes and three action figures belonging to each color scheme. The military vehicles were repainted in more militaristic schemes and three new vehicles were added - an APC (Armored Personnel Carrier), a jeep and a 6-wheeled all-terrain troop carrier. Also, a rarely seen helicopter was designed after the Cobra helicopter of U.S. Military. There was a Mounted Patrol figure set with four new figures on horseback, but it was not readily available in the U.S.
Then came 1999 and the Corps! Got another overhaul, the toy series came with a new subtitle – ‘Max Power/Total Action Series’ with a slight change in packaging. And six more of the original 24 action figures were removed from the assortment. But, they were replaced by six new statues. Out of them, three were entirely new and shown a more detailed approach that appealed like never before to the collectors of GI Joe 3 3/4". And the rest of the three busts were repainted from the ‘Mounted Patrol’ series. These small vehicles and play sets were added - two kinds of bunker positions, a small one-man helicopter, a 4-wheeler ATV and a jet-pack/flight wing.

Despite so many changes in these years, the characters still have the same names and same accessories.
