Transformer Action Figures

In the world of action figures, Transformer action figures are very popular. People are just mad at Transformer figures. These toys are available worldwide, this shows there fame.
The Transformers toys made by the famous company, Hasbro are very popular. Actually, the Transformers figures were originally created and manufactured by a Japanese toy company called Takara Tomy. But, in 1984, Hasbro made a deal with this company to distribute these amazing action figure toys in the United States. Later, Hasbro bought the whole Transformers figure line from Takara.
The Concept - The main concept behind the Transformers toys range is that the parts of a toy can be shifted in order to change it from a vehicle to an animal or from a robot to a vehicle back again. Famous taglines are associated with the Transformers are – ‘More Than Meets the Eye’ and ‘Robots in Disguise’.
The Transformer action figures can be divided into 2 segments - the heroic Autobots and the other one is their opponents, the Decepticons. The Transformer figures have great play features. Other Media – Based on the Transformers figures, a Marvel comic book, an animated TV series and two movies have been produced.
Different Transformers action figures Toys Lines
1. Transformers: Generation One – This was the first Transformers figure toy line. Takara manufactured these new toys that were based on Diaclone and Micro Change toy ranges. Hasbro bough the rights to sell these figures in the States but, it re-named these figures as ‘The Transformers’. These earlier toys were made of die-cast metal.
2. Transformers: Generation Two – In the year of 1993, Hasbro released the Transformer action figures as Generation 2. Again these toys were also made by Takara. There was nothing new; the olds were re-used for most of the characters from 1984 to 1985. They used only different colors and finishes with different weapons and accessories.
3. Beast Wars and Beast Machines When the Generation 2 series failed, Hasbro and Takara thought to come up with something new. The new concept was that all the figures would transform into animals. This ‘Beast Wars’ Transformers figure line was released in 1995. In the same year, Mainframe Entertainment released an animated series TV program based on this line. These Transformers figures line was a big hit in international markets.
4. Transformers: Animated This series was based on an animated TV series that broadcasts in the US and other nations. A different art-style was sued for these transformers animated figures.
Originally this animated series was named ‘Transformers: Heroes’, but later it was changed. This Transformer figures were followed by a sub-series called ‘Transformers: Universe’.
Transformers: The Movie
This live-action movie based on the Transformer figures was released in the U.S. in 2007. It was a joint venture among Hasbro, DreamWorks SKG and Paramount Pictures. This movie was directed by Michael Bay and screenplay was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The movie was a great hit.
In this movie, Shia LaBeouf is the leading human character and other supporting roles were played by Sam Witwicky, Josh Duhamel and Megan Fox.
Transformers Video Games
In the year of 1986, a company called Ocean Software launched a video game that was based on the Transformers figures. This game was not a hit. Also Takara, the parent company of the Transformers released a game called Transformers: Convoy no Nazo. This game too was a successful one and it was not even released outside Japan.
Another game was released for the Sony PlayStation 2 by Atari; simply titled as Transformers, it was based on The Transformers: Armada. The game's reception was mixed, particularly due to the popularity of a PS2 Transformers game released at the same time for a Japanese-exclusive market, though the Armada game was of a higher quality and featured much better game-play. The game not released in America was based on the Generation 1 storylines.
It has been over two decades since the Transformers figures were first launched, but still the popularity and craze in people for Transformer action figures has not stopped and never will it.
