The Rock - Dwayne Johnson is the real name of the WWE superstar who is popularly known as the ‘Rock’.

Born on 2nd May, 1972, he is also known as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Besides a wrester, the Rock is also an actor. During his college days, he was a football player and he was part of the Miami University's national championship team in the year of 1991. Later, he played for the Calgary Stampeders, but he short by two months in the season. And this led him decide to become a professional wrestler. His father ‘Rocky Johnson’ and grandfather ‘Peter Maivia’ was also wrestlers.

Although, the Rock has retired from wresting, but people still remember him and he is very popular.

Wrestling - In WWE, the Rock gained mainstream fame as a wrestler from 1996 to 2004. He was the first 3rd generation wrestler in the history. He got a quick push in the WWE, initially as ‘Rocky Maivia’, but eventually as ‘The Rock’. He won WWE championship just two years after he joined the gang. He became one of the most popular wrestlers in the WWE. But, he also focused on movies since 2001, though he appears occasionally in the house of WWE just for promotions.

He has been a nine-time world champion in wrestling, has won the WWE Championship for seven times (with being the Undisputed Champion) and also he won the WCW Championship twice. Additionally, he also won the WWF Intercontinental Championship twice and the WWF Tag Team Championship for five times. He is also the winner of the 2000 Royal Rumble.

T.V. & Movie Career - The success of the Rock is not limited to wrestling only. His popularity got him fame in Hollywood too. He first appeared in the single of singer Wyclef Jean in 2000, ‘It Doesn't Matter’. In the same year, he also hosted the ‘Saturday Night Live’ show with fellow wrestlers, Big Show, Triple H and Mick Foley. This show was mainly responsible for getting him offers from the Hollywood.

In movies, he first appeared in 2001, in ‘The Mummy Returns’ in the role of ‘The Scorpian King’, this movie was a blockbuster. The Rock got the highest fee among all actors in for his first movie role, a whopping $5.5 million. Till date, he has appeared in many movies like Be cool, The Rundown, Walking Tall, The Game Plan, Gridiron Gang, Get Smart, Race to Witch Mountain and Planet 51.

Today, after quitting from wrestling, Dwayne is focusing only on acting.
